This is the second mandatory level of the ACUC Training Ladder for divers wishing to continue their diving accreditations. This is a theory and practical course that introduces the student to different diving scenarios such as dives with reduced visibility, dives in confined spaces, U/W navigation, specimen recognition, etc. Upon successfully completing the course, candidates will obtain the ACUC internationally recognized certification of "Advanced Diver". Prerequisites
* Classroom Component
* An ACUC Open Water Diver accreditation or equivalent
* A minimum of 20 dives not including checkout dives from other courses
* Recommended First Aid and CPR Course
Duration
Approximately 30 and 40 hours, depending on the number of students in the course
Requirements to obtain the certification
* The practical exercises in pool
* A written examination on the theory of diving, related to the topics offered in the course
* A minimum of 4 dives in open water, on the topics of deep diving, current diving, night diving, and navigation skills under the supervision of an Instructor
